Hey there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet!
You might be wondering who I am or what this blog is about. Ok, so I’ll give you a quick rundown of who I am and what you’ll find here.
Who am I?
I’m M. and I’m 24 years old. I’ currently a vet student, however if everything goes accordingly to plan, I’m going to finish my studies this December. I’m someone who always loved exploring different places – whether it’s a city or the countryside – and learning about the culture and the food. But that’s not all. I love seeing wildlife and experiencing animals in their natural habitat. That’s why I am so passionate about protecting our wildlife and the conservation efforts behind it. Especially in recent years, I’ve also become more aware of the impact that travel has on the environment, so I try my best to keep that in mind when planning a new trip. Oh, and one more thing about me. I love the ocean. I feel my best when the sea isn’t too far away or I can at least hear water somewhere nearby.
Why does this blog exist?
With no real plan on how I am going to continue my life after finishing vet school, I started to panic. And here we are. Honestly, I wish that was a joke.
I see this blog as a space to share stories about past journeys, plan and document future adventures and, most importantly, share my thoughts on the connection between travel and conservation. As well as the fun side of sharing the amazing places I have visited, I also want to share conservation efforts across the globe. I’ll also point out the mistakes I’ve made in the past, so you don’t go down the same road.
So, what can you expect to find here?
- Stories from my travels: the good and the bad
- Resources on conservation: from volunteering opportunities to lesser-known initiatives, that are well worth supporting
- Tools to help you plan your next trip
- And whatever comes to my mind that I would like to share
Thanks for being here and reading this!
Whether you’re a fellow traveller, someone curious about conservation or a fellow baby vet panicking, I’m glad you’re here.
M.
